After 2 cancellations Pan Pacific Masters Games finally returns to the Gold Coast

Play it, Live it, Love it! at the Pan Pacific Masters Games to be held dates 4 to 13 November 2022 on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

More than 13,000 athletes from over 30 countries will converge on one of the most popular holiday destinations to compete in the world’s biggest and best biennial masters games.

The Gold Coast’s famous celebration of masters sports will showcase competition in more than 40 sports at some of the best sporting facilities on the planet and feature a jam-packed nightly entertainment program at the Games Village.

Participants compete in their age group with no qualifying standards or times to enter. The only criterion for entry is a minimum age for each sport, which for the majority is 30 years of age.

2022 is the year to ‘Play it, Live it, Love it!’ at the Pan Pacific Masters Games!

Dragon Boat Competition Dates & Times

  • Thursday 10 – Saturday 12 November 2022 (7:30am – 5:00pm daily)
  • Thursday 10 November 2022 – 500m
  • Friday 11 November 2022 – 200m
  • Saturday 12 November 2022 – Around the Island (standard boats only) as well as any finals not held Thursday or Friday due to poor weather


Gold Coast Dragon Boat Club

Calm waters and stunning scenery make Lake Orr one of the finest places to dragon boat race on the Gold Coast. The 80-hectare man-made lake attracts water sport enthusiasts from around the world and is located a stone’s throw away from the bustling Market Square in Varsity Lakes.

Age Requirements For Dragonboating

  • Age is determined as at 31 December 2022
  • Minimum age for competition is 40 years


  • Snr A 40+: Open, Mixed and Women in both small and standard
  • Snr 55+: Open, Mixed and Women in both small and standard
  • Cancer Survivors: Small boat only
  • Around the Island: Open, Mixed and Women, standard only

All races will be in standard boats (20s) only


Sport Fee: $60 per person

Games Fee: 

  • Competitor:
    Early bird $125 (until 11:59pm AEST 31 August 2022)
    Standard $145 (from 1 September 2022)
  • Non-Playing Official: $90
